Help make sure the 10,000 people and their families we help and care for every week aren't forgotten
This December we are raising money for Jewish Care.
Jewish Care is the largest health & social care charity for the UK Jewish community, helping 10,000 people weekly. They help older people, people with disabilities, mental health needs, visual impairment, Holocaust survivors & refugees. They also help families & carers & run youth programmes.
Jewish Care provides a variety of services to help and support those living with a diagnosis. This is almost never just the person with dementia but invariably family and friends, who often take on the role of the carer too. Take for example their three dementia day centres providing a place for people like Adair to visit. The Sam Beckman Centre in Friern Barnet has become an indispensable part of his week and allows his wife Janet the much-needed respite that she deserves.
In addition to their day centres, they host numerous support groups for those living with dementia where members can take part in activities such as reminiscence and benefit from a warm, welcoming and vibrant atmosphere where no one needs to feel uncomfortable or embarrassed about their situation.
Jewish Care is caring for thousands of people in our community living with dementia, along with their families, friends and carers. The cost to provide these services is significant and continues to grow. They cannot maintain this level of care, let alone meet the increased demand, without your support.
